Israel has a serious shortage of the bomb sniffing, tracking, and patrol dogs that can help prevent tragic mass-homicide bombings and terrorist attacks that have taken so many innocent victims. The Jewish Legion, working in coordination with the Israel Defense Forces, is supplying Labradors, Malanois, and Belgian Shepherds -- along with their human volunteer handlers -- to bolster overstretched Israeli defenses. But the Jewish Legion urgently needs funds to continue this lifesaving work.

Guarding besieged Israeli cities, towns and villages will take many more dogs and handlers. Putting bomb-sniffing dogs at every checkpoint, at high-risk bus routes, schools and public places is an enormous undertaking. But it will deter and prevent future attacks.

We also urgently and immediately need:

1- People who can help house dogs before we are able to send them over to Israel. Often we need a few weeks until all papers and flights can be arranged. Now, we have 2 dogs in New York area trained to track and bomb-sniff that need to be housed for few weeks.

2- We desperately need funds to feed and house our volunteers in Israel and to continue construction of kennels in Israel.

3- We desperately need funds to pay instructors and some allowances for the volunteers as well as to cover expenses of emergency vehicles.
